The annual CMEMS Conference is organised by the first year Research Master students of 'Classical, Medieval and Early Modern Studies' (CMEMS), who are also the main speakers. This year, the theme of the conference will be ‘Voices of Authority in Premodern Times’. The various speakers at the conference will engage with topics related to the expression, transmission and challenging of authority in the classical, medieval and early modern period.
We are delighted to announce that this year's keynote lecture will be given by Prof Dr Faustina Doufikar-Aerts (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and is titled: 'Alexander the Great in Arabic Tradition: Archetype of Kings and Warlord on a Divine Mission'.
